About Fred

Fred Hymans, CFP ® has spent his career in the financial field including over 20 years’ experience providing comprehensive financial planning and advice to clients in Northern California and in several states across the country. Fred’s experience and skills include retirement planning and implementation, wealth management and asset allocation strategies, college savings, life insurance, disability income and long-term care insurance.

As a Certified Financial Planner ® Practitioner, Fred works with individuals and families to help them clarify their long-term goals and then make a plan, based on their specific, individual needs and objectives, to work toward achieving those goals.

He also works with small business owners to help set up and manage solo and group retirement plans, including defined contribution and defined benefit plans. His expertise includes set up and funding of corporate buy/sell and key-person arrangements.

Fred Hymans is a good listener, explains complex concepts in clear, easy to comprehend language and helps his clients understand so they can make informed decisions together, in a collaborative environment. Fred is owner of Essential Financial Strategies, financial planning and investment management firm based in Rocklin, CA.

Fred serves on multiple non-profit boards and volunteers his time to those charities throughout the year. Fred was born in San Francisco and raised in the Bay Area. He graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Marketing. Fred resides in Rocklin, CA with his wife Colleen Gregg. Between them, they have two children and six grandchildren. Fred enjoys playing golf and sailing and during certain times of the year, works as a semi-professional pyrotechnician.
